Week 15:
Today marks my last entry for this blog nearly four months from the start and vast amounts of growth later, I can say this was well worth it. I had the privilege of having taken part of this Internship for Anna Eskamani last semester during the Fall without this course being taken. From taking the course and making these weekly reflections during the spring, I do feel I have been able to “store” more of my experiences and what I actually have learned. Putting all these things down somewhere, even just typing them like I have here, really helps drill in all the key points, lessons learned, and activities done throughout the semester, without this it can get quite cloudy. Furthermore, the two assessments from my instructor have been great at allowing me to be able to gauge how satisfied he is with my work so that was a great plus too. Beyond this, earlier today, April 24th of 2026 I gave my final presentation to my classmates, Dr. French, and a few other professors. This allowed me to spread Anna’s message more and really solidify my experiences.
As for this week there was no phonebanking but I have been tasked with literature dropping or “lit dropping” as it is more commonly known as by simply leaving flyers at people’s homes and not necessarily knocking or seeking conversation. The goal of this is more so to spread word of whatever the topic is, in this case a meet and greet with Anna Eskamani herself here in Lake Nona. By the time I end I will have left the flyers at 80 doors, double the usual amount of doors for canvassing. Activities that I pick up like these, help me solidify my role as a Lake Nona specialist within the internship, something I am proud to do.
Anyhow, thank you Dr. French, my peers, and everyone else involved in this opportunity. I will be doing this again during the summer for Anna Eskamani’s Legislative Internship so I will be back soon!
